Relating to Another Character

I’m rereading a book I read only a couple months ago. It was given to me by a friend after she felt “led” to do so–resisting at first the nudge, but reluctantly gave in.

I devoured it in a day–looking for the reason behind such nudges, and found some nuggets that surely have assisted in my emotional recovery and return to life again.

This time though, one chapter in, I feel drawn to the second character, and not the main in whom I easily relate. Her life, decisions, her essence–whimsical, ethereal, inspiring me to desire more than my experiences are in the present moment.

She reminds me of who I used to be.

When desires fueled my passions, and hope filled my days.

I’m excited to get to know this me again.

It’s important to always look out, not back–I’ve left lots of luggage onshore, hoping I’ll find some new things out there. -Joan Erikson
